The majestic Orca in space

So you want to mine with me?

I’ll be happy to accept you in my fleet! I usually have a Fleet Advert up so make sure to check the Fleet Up! tab in your Agency window:

The Fleet Up! tab in your Agency window, showing my fleet.

I might not at all times run a fleet, and it might not at all times be accessible to everyone (alliance and corporation will probably always be allowed to join) and it probably helps if you’re in good standing with me, my corp, or my alliance. Positive security status also can’t be bad!

There are also some rules you may want to adhere to, in decreasing order of severity:

  • No racism, sexism, transmisia, homomisia, misogyny, or any other kinds of discrimination! I will kick you faster than you can non-apologize!
  • Also, no ganking, awoxing, bumping, or stealing from other players. This should be self-explanatory, really.
  • Do not AFK for extended periods of time. AFKing makes you a better target for gankers which endangers the fleet and future operations.
  • Do not mine the same rocks as I do. I am mining in an Orca, I have to use drones, and the closer I am to the rocks and the longer I can mine them, the better my yield. Remember, I have 79 km of boost range and your mining range is extend by 115% (which means you can get rocks that are easily 100 km away from me) so pick a spot a bit further away, please. As moon belts are a lot more sparse than normal asteroid belts it might be harder to not collide with my rocks; in that case I might use tags to mark the rocks I’m planning to mine next so make sure your overview is set up to show the tag column!
  • No cherry-picking! You’re mining with boost now; mining the normal-yield stuff with boost will earn you way more than mining the high-yield stuff without boost so there is no need to go for the “good stuff” first. Pick a starting spot and then just vacuum the whole belt from there.
  • If we’re in a normal asteroid belt: do not mine the last rock! A belt that has been completely emptied out will respawn with less ore in it so it’s important to always leave a bit.
  • Be friendly! There may be some conversation going on in the fleet window, feel free to participate.
  • Taxes (as payment for my boost charges and the fuel for the Large Industrial Core) are very much appreciated but at the moment not required.

If you do not have your own ore transport ship or do not want to make the trip to empty your mining hold every couple of minutes you can also let me bring your ore to station in the Orca. Tell me that you would like to do that and store your ore in a jetcan until it’s full upon which you will rename it to “Full” so I can tractor it to me and store it. I will keep records of what and how much is in the jetcan and after the mining operation is over I will contract your ore to you in the (for me) most convenient station. In order to make use of this offer you need to keep your jetcans closer than 84 km to the Orca!

I think that’s mostly it. Keep in mind that you are not entitled to mining with me. I also have no obligation to give you a warning before kicking you if you are breaking one of these rules. If you consistently misbehave in my fleet chances are you won’t get invites in the future.

If you see me mining somewhere but you don’t want to join me, that’s fine, too. If you produce wrecks I would appreciate it if you made them available to me (by abandoning them). Thank you very much!
